Default Help with new header

I am getting ready to purchase a new header for my 01 and I am not sure which one I should buy. I am looking for more low mid end torque. My budget is not unlimited, but I also don't want to buy something just for the sake of saying I have a new header. While on the topic of new header, I was visiting my son in Del Rio, TX and he introduced me to someone that had custom built some headers. What was strange was that he had taken a 4 cyl. Honda Accord and made it a true dual exhaust. One header came off 1 & 3 and the other came off 2 & 4. It had 2 catalytic converters 2 sets of pipes and 2 mufflers. I am not a mechanic nor am I an engineer so my question is would this work well on the S2000, if yes why and if not why not. Just looking for helpful input

No idea on the custom job...

As for headers in production:
I would vote for J's as it's the best all around.
If you want to spend a little less and mainly want low/mid TQ: used Mugen!

Lol... do NOT make the S a dual exhaust. Why the hell would you do that to a 4 cylinder

Get the Rick's 6+ header. It has dyno proven midrange hp and torque gains and can be had for 725 off www.ricks2k.com or around 700-750 shipped if you can nab one used in the FS forum.

I'd also look into a VAFC controller for your car. the 00 and 01 models can usually pick up around 15 horses from a tuned one, and around 20+ horses above 8300 rpms where our restrictive ECU dumps in more fuel than needed.

Does the Rick's header eliminate the catalytic converter and cause you to throw a CEL, or is it street legal? And it does fit the AP2, correct?
