Default Help: Owners of 18" wheels

Hey guys. Im looking to get a set of 18 inch wheels with 8 inch front and 10 inch rear. How long do tires usually last??? Do they last more/less/same as stock S-02s? I got around 10k out of my rears. I plan on using S-03 for new wheels? Any advice or info. Thanks

Sure 18x10 will fit, if you get the proper offsets. Tires lasting has nothing to do with the diameter though; it has to do with what the compound is designed to do.

well its not that simple. there are a lot of factors that have to go into it. like are you dropped? if so how much? are you going to drop? if so how much? what offset are you getting. the higher the offset you get the more camber you will hav to run which will eat your tires faster. also why would you want a 10 rear? honestly there is no reason for it on the S. i have 8.5 which is fine in 18". even a 9 in my opinion is much.
i have S03s but because of my drop i am running a lot of neg camber so i eat my tires up on the inside. i have to have them rotated about every 5k from side to side so they will wear evenly i usualy get about 9k or a little more out before they are a slick

I would always do rims first thendrop it. That way you dont have to worry about scraping or rubbing. Buy the right rims, and offset and then lower.

I agree and 18x10's will fit with the correct offsets yes. There is even an owner in FL with 19x10's in the rear of his suzuka. I belive he is running a 285 out back!

What up Rob, when you coming back down here?

In the right offsets, anything will fit. If you want something that wide, I recommend the BBS LM's.

As for tires, I believe the S03's might last a bit longer then the OEM S02's but not by a significant amount. It also depends greatly on your alignment settings.

it depends on your driving style.
if you drive the same as you would with stock 16s with SO2's than it would be the same for the 18's with SO3's (maybe 1K miles more the most).

I got 18's with SO3's and similar driving style and similar wear pattern/distance/time. I'm thinking of just upgrading the rears to some Kumho's later. I heard that they last a little longer, if not, at least I can AFFORD to replace those more often.

Actually, I'm more agressive with the stock 16's... It's much easier to spin, peel out, chirp during shifting, slide/drift slightly, etc. But those tires are soooo much cheaper than the 18's.

sorry, not trying to hi-jack the thread but would it be a ba idea to put normal tyres on the original rims or if you had other rims to again get normal tyres?

it would save time and money rather than buying different wheels and swapping them over come winter.
