Default HELP please!

hi, i was driving at around 80mph on the freeway in the lane 2. and it was a slight curve to the left and the cars in front of me suddenly moved out of the lane and there was a small furniture looking thing and a stool in my lane! it was way too close at 80mph for me to think too much. i knew there was a car to the left of me, and i didnt kno if there was a car to the right of me so i didnt want to make the lane change.
so i braked as much as i can before i started to make my move. i was able to dodged the small furniture to the left edge of the lane but hit the stool that was on the right edge of the lane. and then my rear lost traction and i started drifting in the 1st lane with my rear perpendicular to the center walls.
watching all those best motoring and drifting stuff helped i guess.. and i was able to just drift down the freeway until i was at a stop..
someone told me that i can call caltran about this and they can fix my car for free.. anybody know anything about that? or what i can do here?

Do you know whose stool it was? If so, go after them. Get your car fixed with a little compensation.

I've been hit by bird stool. Luckily the top was up.

anyway, if you have comprehensive, you might be covered. I mean.. it covers earthquakes and explosions.. it should cover debris in the highway.

I do know that pothole damage is covered, but after the latest storms from about a year ago made tens of thousands of the new buggers, they started a new idea: let's deny everything and make them fight for it.

While CalTrans and the CHP will remove debris from the freeway, unless the debris is city property I don't see why they should pay - especially since the stuff could have been on the road for a minute or so until you happened to chance by it.

Why wouldn't it be?

The bumper cover, however, is probably not repairable.
