The rust doesn't look so bad. What kind of shape are the rear fender lips in? I personally would be more concerned about the three collisions. I know of a one owner 21000 km 2005 mint S2000 that just changed hands here in Nova Scotia for low 30K range. Deals do still exist out there, just have to be in the right place at the right time.

Its a good price, especially considering the seller is having the pan fixed. that's not cheap.

I've done it. And I would charge more than $17K for the pan job alone.

Looks normal. I would give those spots on the fuel tank some special attention so they don't get worse. A personal policy of mine is not to buy used cars from Quebec, but that owner sounds like a reliable seller, not your typical scammer from un-reputable circles that can exist in the used car industry in that Province. I don't see any issues with that car , compression numbers are nice, underbody is reasonable, and no visible body corrosion.

idk I would try to talk the price down. To me the issue is that the rust was caused by a bad repair or late repair and the car was exposed to the weather. I'd be concerned that water may still leak in.
I like15k but you probably won't get that low. 16k I might bite.

Bserious here to explain....

seller wants $17.4K for the car INCLUDING welding a new trunk pan in.

that's quite a job to do.

I was then jokingly stating that if someone asked me to weld a trunk pan into their car, I would charge them an exorbitant amount of money to do so because it sucks to do.

this hilarious joke was just a means to tell OP that he's getting a good price overall.

And also an indirect warning to make sure the job is done properly...as its neither easy or unintrusive.

Trust me, that type of joke slays in Canada. OP's gonna love it.

I'm literally laughing out loud reading this post... B serious you have made my night... and I can confirm that your joke is indeed slaying it here in Canada.

I honestly appreciate both the humor and the seriousness of your comments.

Thanks for the intel. A 21k car for low 30s would be fantastic deal. Where do I find something like that!!!????

The rear fender lips (I think the same as rear wheel wells?) are in great shape. Zero corrosion starting on any body panels that I can tell. And they would have been painted >10 years ago.

Gotcha. On second thought I can swallow the price with the repairs made; I see what you mean.

Bserous - the seller says the garage has quoted $750 CAN (~$600 USD) to repair to the trunk pan. As you seem to have experience with this job... does that sound like way to cheap to do a good job of it? They will take before, during, and after pics of the work. Here's a pic of the trunk pan in current condition. Thanks
