About a week ago my Radio Lid or Cover quit working on MY01. Sure as everyone knows you push in on the lid and it drops down by itself, well mine doesn't anymore .

I pushed the lid up to close it and heard a horrific "crunching" noise. I'm assuming the gear popped of or something? I would hate to take my car to the dealership for such a minor and pathetic fix that I could probably do myself. Though the fact that its broke does bother me.

Has this ever happened to anyone and if so does anyone know how to fix this? Your help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

You should be able to buy a new one from http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000.html and install it yourself. A firm pull on the radio door will remove the door from the dash. I think a radio door assembly is less than $30. Here's some detailed removal instructions from Lucid http://www.lucidautomotive.com/guides/aft/

im installing my radio lid and the site said open the lid half way and wiggle it out... well it doesnt work. It seems any harder would break something....

edit: okay u have to pry the clips around it out first but mine isnt unclipping... im bending the crap out of the top vent piece and the clip is still engaged....

help?

NVM! it finally came out... wow. stubborn lil bastard clips.
