There is various products around that can help you with this problem Aldwin - I personally use Plexus on my 2001.

If you want other opinions try doing a search on this site (using something like 'rear window').

PS - Congratulatons on the purchase - you'll love it!

Meguiar's supposedly sells a three step process to help clear scratches and protect the window. Try www.properautocare.com. I use Plexus as well. I guess it all matters just how messed up your window is. Didn't you see it before you bought it?

Aldwin,

There's some stuff in the library on this site also. I think Honda recommends the 3M two-step process (cleaner + polish), but a lot of posters recommend the Meguair's two-step. My window also looks like someone cleaned it with chocolate bars, so I've ordered the 3M stuff.

I had trouble finding either of these in the stores, so I ordered the 3M on line. Here's a link. Free shipping when I ordered.

Here's Meguair's. They charge shipping.

Mine should arrive soon. I'll post a narrative on results. You do the same, yes?

Dude,

Aldwin and I live in Calfornia. We didn't even know these things had tops when we bought 'em. Discovered them when we were playing around with that funny little switch next to the hazard lights.

I use meguair's #17. It works pretty good. Just have to do it once a month or so.

You might want to check with a dealer, I think there was a TSB (check in the libary or do a search) on getting a replacement window. I got mine done. But I think Honda will only do it once, if the previous owner never had it done you may be able to. It's worth looking into.

Good Luck

Rubbing Alcohol works pretty well cleaning up the back window. Probably not as well as products that or designed for cleaning plastic windows, but it did the trick for me

I hope that you can clean your window with the various products mentioned above. The window might be messed up from being scratched each time you put the top down. If you have not yet, you need to put a towel in the "bin" where the window is stored when you drop the top. I just got a call from my Honda dealer and they are going to replace the window for me, maybe you can see if they will do that for you.

I used the meguirs 17, 3M, plexus and a few others they all clean the window pretty good but none seem to remove the fine hairline scratches I have. Currently I'm using Zaino z5. If that doesn't work I might try using a buffer or cd scratch repair. Anybody had success with removing scratches on plastic? Mine are on the inside it looks like where the window would rub when the top is being put up and down.

Has anybody installed the 02 top with the glass window on a 00 or 01 S2000?
