HELP! with rear window problem
Last week I put some of the static rear window tint on the back window. After a day I checked it and noticed some serious air bubbles, so I removed the tint, cleaned everything, and reapplied the tint making sure to get all the bubbles out this time. After a few more days, I noticed there were no bubbles, but I could see spots through the tint especially from inside. So I took the tint off again and recleaned. Now the spots won't come off the plastic!!
I cleaned with multiple coats of Plexus and Meguires#17, but to no avail. I've poured hot water- nothing. I've left it out in the sun a bit (couple hours)- nothing. There are accually indentations where the spots are. Did I ruin my perfect window? HELP PLEASE!

If baking and then Plexus does not work use the #17 or Zymol HD Cleanes after its sat with the top up for the night and got cool. This way the plastic can be more easily manipulated by the cleaners.
Pinky-
Wouldn't I want to clean it while its still warm? The plastic would be softer then and easier to work with, right?
BTW, its been in the sun most of the day now and still no noticeable effect. I really starting to stress now...

Well, the spots are still there despite all my efforts. I guess I have ruined the plastic. As a word of caution to everyone, make sure ALL the bubbles are out of the tint before you leave it in the sun.
You didn't mention if you did the application using something like RapidTac (it's like a soapy solution). Most tint and decal installers use this to get ALL the bubbles out. If the bubble formed and then expanded in the sun under the tint, it may have stretched the window plastic such that it made a slight hollow in it. Leaving the car out in the sun at this point will most likely do nothing since the whole window including the indents will expand together. Since you've tried heat, why not try cold. Get an ice pack and put it on the indents for a few minutes to see if it has any effect. If it does, it might confirm my theory and you can try this on the whole window. If it doesn't, you're no worse off than before.
