Default Help with silencer

i have the greddy ti-c exhaust and having a hard time pulling out the silencer. i took out the 3 screws and tried pulling the silencer out with a meat coat hanger. i'm trying to be careful not to damage the silencer. there is no room to move the silencer around from the outside. plz help if you know what to do. thanks.

when i used my megan exhaust silencer it was pretty hard to get out. i would end up having to just rip it out with a pair of robo grips. the silencer doesnt go in anymore

the robogrips didnt damage anything. get a cloth between the 2 metals and rip away was my method

:agree: I had a megan single as well. Basically the silencer is in there as tight as can be, which is good, otherwise you'd have air forcing itself out. However this does make it difficult to remove.

My technique is much like the above. Spray some wd-40 or similar, grab a rag and some pliers (i prefer one in each hand so that you pull straight instead of to one side) and yank like you're trying to pull your exhaust off.

good luck man, it's a pain

Somebody else had an interesting removal process of using a broomstick or something and jamming it in, then pulling the whole thing out. I believe it worked for a couple people.

Might want to search for the link to that thread
