Default HELP Speedo Experts

I bought a 2001 S2K from the states but I live in Canada. I turn the car on, its in MPH, i switch it to KM/H and thats that. Everytime I turn the car off and start it again it goes right back to MPH. Is there any way to switch it to KM/H permanently and have MPH as my option? Any help is appreciated. (Would've looked in the manual but I didn't get one )

The owner's manual for my MY00 states, "The select button switches the speedometer reading between miles per hour and kilometer per hour. It also changes the odometer and trip meters to read in miles or kilometers correspondingly. To change the readings, push the Select buttong and hold it until you hear a beep."

I couldn't find any other info on that in the manual.

I would think it is a programming feature. Honda can probably switch the default at the dealership. The question is - can you find a service dept that has a clue? And how much will they charge you?

Can't see all the foreign owners hitting that button every time.

It can't be that big a deal to remedy.

I think it remembers the setting, you don't have to do it each time.

hockey, i recall taking a roadtrip to the US a few years ago in my 2000 S2000 and i only toggled to MPH from KPH once i entered the states....but never again for the rest of the trip (3 days in the US).

maybe it's his particular car???
