Default Help on Springs for a MY04

Hey guys I want to buy a set of coilovers for my S but seeing as how money is tight I think I am just going to be a good set of springs and a good set of shocks. I know there has been many debates on springs which is the best etc. I am looking for someone who has put springs and shocks on a MY04 with stock wheels and has had no problems with rubbing. I dont know if the wheels will rub on the stock 04 rims because they are bigger than the previous years. I am looking at the comptech adjustable springs and was wondering if anyone has them on their car and how they ride. How easy is it to adjust the ride height on the springs? Thanks for the help

Try PMing s2ksimon for info on the Comptech adjustable springs. He doen't have an '04, but he'll be able to give you a good idea on ride and adjustability...

By the time you purchace shocks and springs, you will be close to the cost of coilovers, FWIW

Alternatively - as your stock shock are almost new - why not get a set of good springs now, and when you wear out the stock shocks (which will happen sooner as the car is under more stress), upgrade to konis or something.

This is what I intend to do - not point junking perfectly good shocks right now - and I know I have something better to come!

I lowered my 04 using a set of Espelir springs - ride is perfect, a little stiffer than stock but not rough at all.

The car is lowered approx 1.5" all round (mmmm look at the rears in the pics ) and sits nicely on the larger 17" stock wheels....with NO rubbing at all.

Good luck in your choices.
