Default Help with TE-37......

Went to Car Trenz(performance shop) today to see how much they charge for these wheels. The guy there owns an S2000 so I think he knows many things about our car. Anyway, he quoted me $2600 for 18" TE-37 Gunmetal w/Toyo tires. Is that a good deal?? Also he told me that TE-37 has a offset of +50 for the rear so he told me that I should not have any problem lowering my car. How low can I go to avoid any rubbing???

my gunmetal 17" were $1940 plus shipping, so... add $200 for 18" = $2140 plus tires, plus mounting, plus balance...

depending on toyo tire, sounds ok.... i assume some kind of Proxes????

rear offset of 50mm w/ 8.5 wide wheel works even with lowered cars... click my signature to see my car..it is lowered about 1.5"

goodluck....Scot

Ask him for a quote on just the rims, and then check the tire prices against tirerack.com. It should be around $500 per rim for the 18". As for lowering, it depends on the size of the tires you get. If you get 255 35's for the rear then don't lower it. I have that size and it sits flush with the fender. If you get 245 35's you'll be okay to lower about an inch or so per Phantom. Volk actually recommends 215 40s up front and 225 40s for the rear. Btw, your tire width will be less than stock if you get anything less than 255 35's. Check out the Group buy on Volks before you purchase.

i think volk recomends 215/45 fronts w/ 235/40 rears (not 225 rears).

My 245 AVS Sports are a noticable amount wider than the stock 225 S0-2's

I ordered a set of Gunmetal 17's about a month ago. They're sitting at my local perf. shop. I paid $2700 Wheels/Tires/Center Caps/Lugs/Mounted/Balanced/Tax OTD. Yes center caps. Volk one's don't fit the rears. The shop assured me they would find some that looked good & fit "properly" keyword being properly. I know common practice is to not have them. Of the dozen or so Stooks in my town I'll have the only W/R for 200 miles & the only one in town with aftermarket wheels. As a matter of fact there's only a handful of cars here with TE37's period. They'll look great once my car gets here next month. When I inquired they suggested I get them then as their supplier had them in stock. Otherwise I would be waiting as much as 3 months.
