Driving to work today, I noticed that my turn signal did not work. When I applied it, the dash did not have the flashing green signal. Then I got out of the car and noticed that the turn signal (front and rear) was not flashing also. I checked the fuse and it's not broken.
They may not have been "flashing" but was at least one of them (front or rear) lit up? This would indicate that one bulb is burnt out. This usually is designed that way so you know a bulb is burnt out.
Now, if you try signalling in the other direction and nothing flashes, then the flasher is toast.
Both left and right signals do not flash on the dash in the car. Then when looking outside the car, the front left/ front right/ rear left/ rear right do not flash, thus I thought it was the fuse for the entire turn signals.
We've established that they don't "flash", but do they light up? I mean when you try to signal, do any of the lights (on the dash or outside lights) come on solid? Do only some come on and some not?
If they are all not even lighting up, then target the flasher and heaven help ya, 'cause I think it's buried deep within the bowels of the dash.
EDIT: My mistake. The signal flasher is in the "bowels" of the dash but it's not that "deep". I was thinking of the "KEY IN" buzzer. THAT'S really DEEP in the bowels.
The signal flasher is just plugged into the fuse panel. If you yank it out and put a new one in, I'm almost sure your problems will be solved. Or maybe it's just loose.
In this picture, it's the big square thing that's just to the right of the thing labelled "lights".
Here's it is in real life. It's a bit fuzzy, but it's that black cube looking thing.
Oddly enough, the manual says it's the same relay for the 4-way. Maybe there's 2 circuits in it.
Additonal note: Before going into the flasher unit at the fuse panel, it must be determined if any of the lights come on solid when the turn signal is activated. This question has yet to be answered by the OP.
It could also be the turn signal switch in the lever on the steering column.
