Default HELP !!! Wind noise problem with Mugen Hardtop !!

Recently, I'm having a wind noise problem with my Mugen Hardtop. When I go over 120mph, I hear a loud whistle noise coming above the winshield and It gets louder if I speed up. I tried to put a thick cable inside the windshield lining but that didn't help at all, so now I took that off too, could anyone make me any suggestions how to solve this problem ? Any suggestion is appreciated...

Thanks in advence,

Umm. How quiet exactly do you expect the car to be at 120??? Is this a new noise that didn't exist previously at that speed, or is this the first time you've had the car up to speed with the top on?

Use itsu grease on the windshield weather strip so it'll bond better with the hardtop. If problem still exist, take a shim out of each of the hardtop catchers. This will make them lock tighter to the strikers on top of the windshield, hence tighter seal.

Just keep accelerating! It's bound to go away - or at least be drowned out by the SONIC BOOM.

.....BOOM....

I had to look at which country this was being done in. Sure enough, not in the US (not to say we don't try).

What are the speed limits over there in Turkey? Any?
How do you get the foolish people only doing 90 in the fastlane to get out of the way?

I wish I could top out my S without fear from the Law. Did you say 155mph??? WOW.

No Roger, adding shim takes the catcher closer to the striker - that leads to less retention. We want a nice tug between the 2 components in this case.

Btw, you don't necessarily have to have equal number of shims on each side. It depends on how each individual top matches up w/ each individual car. Both of which, however minute, are subject to certain spec. tolerance.

Hey, Roger, how did you know about the 6 shims...did you get one?
