Just wanted to say what's up to everyone; I'm new to the boards and currently shopping for my first S2k. Still comparing with the 350z, but I'm definitely leaning S2k (though I haven't tested the 350 yet)

Anyway, a lot of good info on this board. I'm from Chicago and my S is going to be a daily driver, so I'm buying winter tires asap if I buy this car. I was just wondering, do most people with winter tires buy separate wheels for those tires? Does anyone just keep rotating their stock alloy wheels between winter and summer tires?

 

So, first of all, we're all biased towards the S, of course, but you will see some interesting feedback here from some folks that have traded in their Z's for S's.

I also recommend you browse the www.my250z.xom forum under the "problems" section for more insight.

In either case, drive the cars, make sure you know WHAT you expect from this vehicle, and get what you like best. (Although I think it'll be an S2000 )

As for snow tires, don't really have that issue in FL, but I would bet having a separate set of wheels and tires will make your life much easier...

Hope you make the smart decision and get an S! As for winter driving, do a search on "Winter tires/driving" you will come up with alot of different thoughts. all and all I think this car equipped with the proper winter tires is a blast. Good luck! Nice to have you as a member!
