I have to agree...I get high beemed almost everytime I drive the car at night, and I even adjusted them down somewhat the S's HID's are very very nice like everybody has been saying...

personally, I think if you were about to retrofit these onto a Supra...it would look pretty sweet

yup. i used think that Acura TL had great HIDs until I saw S2K; it's brighter and whiter.

The lights are decent if you can get them to illuminate all types of road conditions. Unfortunately they only excel on flat roads. Take them to a windy, mountainous road and the headlight cutoff is scary! I have to drive with high beams on to overcome the lack of illumination around turns and going up hills.

I just rode in my cousin's new Lexus RX330 (the small SUV). Those lights were pretty nice. They even rotate towards turns and inclined roads!

The lights on my 04 S2000 definitely provide better visibility at night compared to my 996 (with Xenon), Cayenne S (with Xenon), and 2000 Audi S4 (with Xenon). I was pleasantly surprised the first time I took the S2000 out at night. My wife noticed the same.

The HID's on my Maxima work very well and are an improvment from most cars. The lights on the S2000 are even better, it's tough to go back

I retrofiited HID's into my last car, a Passat, with no problems. Stick with the name brand ballasts and bulbs like Hella and Philips. Stock HID color temperatures are near 4200K (Sunlight). 6000K+ looks too purple IMO and puts out less light. I sold the kit when I sold the car, 30 minutes to take out and package.

You're right in saying that you should stick to the name brands!

I'm in the UK and there's some lights on Ebay from separate sellers, they don't come with the ballast, but I've got one Lexus LS 430 light.

Don't know whether to go for the S2000 lights if the price is right or try to get another Lexus light which is going to be very difficult to find.

Is this the LS430 HID you are looking for ? The seller may not like to ship oversea. If you like this one, I may be able to bid for you and ship it to you, i.e., you may have to pay 2 shipping charges.

One thing is missing: no ballast is mentioned, only the Xenon bulb.

I find them to be excellent. You really notice the difference when you get behind the wheel of any other car.

Just to chime in here...

My s2k is the first car I have owned with HID's, and they are simply amazing. I remember going from a '93 Integra to a '98 Integra that had the halogen prjoectors and being amazed at the difference. Then I went from the '98 Teg to an '02 RSX which had halogen reflectors and I thought that the RSX lights were the best I'd had.

The first time I took my s2k out at night it was unreal. I still have the RSX and when I drive it at night after driving my s2k it seems as if I have two C cell flashlights duct taped to my hood for head lights...especially when driving under street lights the halogens virtually disappear.

I realize that this is more a halogen vs. HID comparison, but the cutoff and spread on the S2000 pattern is quite amazing.

Just my 2 cents.
