That's a pretty good life for the bulb --> 4 years. It is a bulb and I try to use my headlights sparingly. They cost a LOT to replace. If you're going to keep the car, you can plan on replacing the left side soon as well. Maybe you could find a set of used bulbs off a wrecked S2k?

DO NOT buy from Honda! They'll ask $200+ I posted on this subject a year or so ago when i stupidly broke one of mine when clearing my headlights. I found one online for $85. Still expensive but not Honda expensive. Do a search.

I have a MY 00 S, I recently replaced my right side HID bulb. I believe they are about $160 to $180 for the bulb. I was also quoted $330 for install by a stealership...uh, I mean dealership. I took my car to my bodyshop guy that changed out my front bumper to a '04 bumper, he did it for $30. I've been told you can do it by removing your tire and going through wheel well lining. good luck

I was told these HID lights should outlast the car! Anyways, look on ebay - there's always deals to be found. Oh, and I have also heard that if you do need to replace a bulb, both should be replaced. Apparently the bulb changes color over time, so if you buy a new one it will be a slightly different color - just something to think about.

Don't buy the ones off ebay unless it is factory...also...you don't see the color difference from the driver's seat I haven't noticed any difference and neither has anybody else...
