Thumbs up hiGH bEAM HID conversion or DRL

Hey guys i know the question sounds a little dumb but would like to know your opinion. should i convert highbeans to HID or instead get a DRL kit?

-with HIDs they would always be at full power. (not able to reduce intensitiy for always on option)
-with DRL kit i can have the reduce beam intensity for always on, during the day (safety) and during the night (for aided visibility). And have the full intesity when needed

Functionality-
-HID's Much more brighter

-DRL- Safety,+ aided visibility (normal driving conditions) during night driving. as well as sencond generation AP2 look alike during the day, Acura TL during the night

Price for both is close to the same for me, since im a HID kit distributor

what you guys think? thanks alot in advance

Although I do enjoy a really intense "bean", I would be much more interested in HID high's personally. There are two simple amenities that I REALLY enjoy in a car, good strong windshield wipers, and bright headlights.

Long as you aren't using the highs with anyone else around (unless they're behind you, in which case they'll love utilizing your increased visibility) they would be awesome.

Sorry for the bean comment just pokin fun

HID's FTW.

Not a big fan of DRL's. If I had an 06+ I'd make one of my first priorities to rip those things out!

Just not a fan of Halogen, why get Halogen when you've got HID.

As for the safety of DRL's. I find myself cruising around with my headlights on before the sun even goes down, just turn on your normal headlights....they look MUCH better and it takes 0.00002954 seconds to turn on.
Just my opinion though.

HIDs in the high beams are stupid. The DRLs are enough to get noticed. I say the HIDs in the highs are stupid because if it is dusk and you forget to turn on your low beams, your highs are still on and are blinding drivers in front of you and drivers coming from the opposite direction.

Stick with DRLs, this way you can still 'flash' as well.

Please...PLEASE don't put HID's in as your DRL's if you're using halogen casing...please tell me you're going to retrofit a projector for your high beam somehow...

if you are replacing the DRL's with HID's, this may not work. many cars with DRL's will recognize that there is a different wattage bulb (or non stock bulb) and the cars computer will not turn on the DRL's at all. infact, some cars will flash the DRL's real fast 5 times, then turn off.

i have no idea about the S2K though, but i wanted to throw that out there for you. good luck with what you do.

You cannot use HID's as Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

DRL's run your highbeams at 50% intensity during the day, as high beams do not have a cutoff and will be noticed by others (but not too bright during the day)

HID's CANNOT run at 50%... They must be at 100% or nothing, otherwise they will flicker.
