BTW, limit vtec until you have 3 bars at least, and some have even said wait 5 mins after that to ensure the engine is properly warmed up. I dont think it will even vtec before that will it? Never tried myself.

Only use lower gears if you are going to accelerate and want the maximum power. There is no point in cruising around at high RPM if you have higher gears available. As a general rule, if you are going to maintain a constant speed (75mph for example) for long periods of time, use as high a gear as possible (6th) in order to save gas and not wear the engine as much.

Not sure now, but they did have a site for them. I will see if I can find the ads for them in a sport compact or something

Well, for the joke one, here's one on e-bay. it mounts in your exhaust and costs $25. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=33633

The other one is an actual BOV like thing that mounts up in your engine bay. It blares just like the BOV and is computer controled to go off at a certian RPM (like the turbo when shifting). It runs about $175 or so.

It takes about 20 minutes for oil to reach optimum temp, about 200 degF when the ambient air is 70 degrees. So I do not think that is overkill, but then what do I know? - some guys in this thread think that running an engine at 9000 RPM is a walk in the park.
