Hit & run case..
Just thought I share this with the community in case anyone ever has to go through the head ache I had to.
So on the day of the accident, I was chilling at my brother's house just visiting. I heard my alarm go on, I instinctively look out the window towards my car to see what's going on. At the time I didn't think too much of anything for it was at my brother's house, a residential quiet dead end street. Maybe someone's loud muffler or bass set it off. So I turned off the alarm. But I did catch a glimps of a dark crimson-purplish sedan briefly stop & go off. It must have been no more than a minute or two, before I started to think why did it stop breifly?!? Than the thought of that car having have clipped my side mirrors came to mind. "oh shit!" I quickly ran out to the car to this.....

Next, I quickly jumped in the S & was redlining all around the neighborhood within a 5 block radius, heated!. But to no luck, there was no sign of that dark colored car I had seen earlier. Called the cops, & reported it in as a hit & run. Also contacted my insurance. Later on that evening I had to head out to work all frustrated & bummed out about the incident. It was within grasp of my hand if I would've reacted quicker & caught that sucka that dare hit my baby & run. I felt cheated, as if I had let myself & my car down.
I return the next day early in the morning in hopes of scooping out all passing by cars on that block to see if I can spot a car with paint smeared on their body. And to my suprise, the neighbor across the street had damage to their right side rear bumper! I leave a sticky note on the window to see if she knew of my alarm going off at the time of the incident & for her to contact me.
Later in the afternoon, even after I left to note early in the morning, no calls. I go knock on her door & confront her about it. She plays dumb & even says that she wasn't driving the car at the time. She would have to ask her grand daughter who was driving at the time. Now I could've just called the cops to follow up on the incident right there & then but being that this was a nice old lady that usually gives cookie out to the neighborhood kids during christmas. I wanted to give her a chance to admit to it even if she didn't know she hit my car, and than from there we could work something out or heck just admit it, an apology maybe? cmon lady. So as the day went by still no calls if she had contacted the person that was driving her car at the time. I let it go, saying that I'll give her until tomorrow.
The next day I confront her again. This time, ms granny that gives away cookies to the neighborhood kids' tone totally changes. She goes to to say that she cant get a hold of her niece that was driving the car at the time. (it's a niece this time, not a grand daughter as she told me the day before) And also, what was I trying to get out of her? She didn't think her bumper damage was from my car. This is where I start to heat up. I tell the lady.. "Look here lady, you asking to get yourself & whoever was driving the car at the time into all lot of trouble from the law because this was a hit run accident. I'm trying to help you avoid all that. All the evidence points to your car. Either tell me who hit my car or I'm just going to let the law deal with it." She goes on to say why I'm threatening her, and that as soon as she hears from her grand daughter she'll let me know. To her it wasn't just a big deal, & she thought I was just trying to get something like money out of her. I was a bother to her. When in real I was trying to help this poor old lady avoid the law. So I got fed up, "fucc it!" walked away & called the cops.
The cops arrive confronts her, investigate & take pictures of both cars. Comes back to tell me that it's confirmed, that's the car that hit me. They told me I don't have to do anymore other than let my insurance take care of it from here. They got her insurance info & that everything will be thrown into the hit & run case to confirm that car & that lady or whoever was at the time driving it hit me. But they're still trying to get a hold of the person that drove it. Now that I think about it was probably the old lady that drove it. Her stories kept switching..
So to everyone that read this long rant, if this ever happens to you sometimes its probably just better to let the law take care of it rather than taking it into your own hands. Even if it was up against a helpless old lady. Because once she turns super saiyan on you it'll be a headache to deal with..Trust me

(this was actually a day after I spotted it & confronted her, looks like she tried to clean it up but didnt know how to buff it out or couldn't)

Nice you got it dealt with in the end, a hassle though. In such a case perhaps have a voice recorder in your pocket is useful because people say a kinds of stuff. I heard someone smash into the corner of a car parked outside where I live, thought someone was trying to knock my front door down. I took pictures of the damage and left a note in case they needed the evidence. The owner told me the person who hit her also left a note (later?), she was glad the person left a note (rear corner light, bumper and tailpipe were damaged)

That's amazing that the cops didn't just blow you off! Did you park on the street in the blind spot of where she would back up out of her driveway? Whenever I have to park on the street, I try and estimate the most visible and least risky place to park.
I think it was a Mercury or something like that, an american build sedan. But whoever was driving was a terrible driver. I was parked on the street. She was backing out of her driveway which was directly across from where I parked. There was enough room for traffic to run both way, while my car was parked on the side. She apparently backed out way too wide.
Yeah Im assuming the cop was on my side all the way because even until the end she denied that she drove it or does not have any ideal of how she got that mark on her bumper. But the edvidence was too strong. The cop said he was still trying to get a hold of her niece, the supposed driver at the time. Either way though she just opened up a can of worms for herself. I guessing she'll be facing a pretty big fine for leaving the scene of an accident. It could've been a felony if I was in the car & got injured while she hit & ran. And I just a qoute back from HONDA, close to 2 G's yo!...damnnnn
