Default Hit a speed bump

Last night I hit a speed bump around 50 mph.
It wasn't a steep one.
Heard two thump sounds as both set of wheels
went over it. I did not lose control.

The car looks and drives fine but is there anything
that I need to look out for? Can suspension or rims
be damaged by this?

Thanks
Gaja.

if you didnt feel your head hit the roof it should be ok. If you're paranoid go get it aligned and see if its still in spec. If it is, no harm done...possible strut damage which might bite your butt later on down the road but highly doubt it.

Thanks Ikey. No my head certainly didn't hit the roof and the top was up.
The car did not move vertically that much. The suspension absorbed most of it.

What you heard "thump" was probably the bump stops.. They protect your struts from bottoming out so if you didnt feel any HARSH hits it should be okay

I'm guessing since there was a speed bump, 50 would be considered *excessive*. Care to share the circumstances?

I'm guessing you we're speeding in a neighborhood at 50mph and didn't notice it....?

bent wheels, bubbles in the sidewall of the tires. vibrations at highway speed.

Did you check for all of those?

None of these things are there.

The road is close to where I live but hadn't taken it in a few weeks and they build a speed bump during that time. And this happened at night.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about it. People (myself included) have offs at the track at speeds way over 50mph and if we don't hit a will, are typically ok.
