Searches are your friend.

You're going to get different opinions on all of this. It depends on what you're looking for.

I would check out www.s2000library.com also for a sound clip.

overall it's what you want. If it's a good deal and you don't want it let me know...I might take it

Very nice growl to it, I love it. There is some drone around 3,500 rpms but that is expected for any aftermarket exhaust. The older ones had some rust issues I believe, the newer ones have been rectified. I bought mine from Evasive for $760 shipped. If you can find it used, get it.

It sounds pretty nice, better than a majority of the exhausts out there.

Andy, I have one although it wasn't on my car this past trackday. Coupled with a test pipe the sound is great, certainly not too loud and with a cat it's even quieter.

The sound or drone ( there actually is none.) issue isn't what should concern you, I would be concerned about the welds were the canister is just after the "Y". I took mine off over the Winter to get it powdercoated and it ended up needing to be welded also.

If it's cheap enough, buy it.

I was debating which exhaust to get......

...found out the HKS is primarily made for the S2K's sound quality.....

...being that it is an aftermarket exhaust, you're bound to see some improvement in performance.......

....but the guys at Evasivemtrsprts informed me it wasn't one of profound significance.....or in lamens terms "YOU AIN"T GETTIN MUCH"

....as an S2K enthusiast....better yet, as a PERSON in general, I honestly would have to stab someone for spending 1K on something that doesn't increase HP....when it CAN increase HP....

just remember....HKS = nice sound....HKS performance = ehh

T1R 70R Sparrow Dual is my personal fave, then again this thread ain't about me....haha

quality isn't that great, but there are many instances where aftermarket quality isn't great... so whatever. It gives a nice growl but won't give much if any gain. It's one of those exhausts that doesn't give the ricer bumble bee sound so i might pick it up if i get the chance.

Since none of the exhausts provide any significant gains (except maybe the ultra loud single ones), it (HKS) at least provides a very pleasing tone (and aggressive growl) which makes the S sound like a sports car. I have seen a lot of double takes from M3 and S4 owners trying to figure what car I was driving from hearing me come up behind them at a stop light. To each his own, I guess. I consider the exhaust to be purely sound enhancement.
