Default HKS exhaust question

hey guys, i just bought a HKS HI-Power exhaust. the only thing i'm concerned about is that the exhaust is used and was on a previous AP1 for about 2 1/2 years. The reason i'm asking is because i'm concerned if it will sound the same as if it was new out of the box? its also missing two rear hangers, is possible to put new hangers on?

WHAT STEPS WOULD YOU TAKE IF HAD BOUGHT A USED EXHAUST SYSTEM?

check for cracks in the welds, bends, dings? give it a good cleanin'. the sound shouldnt sound different. i heard it a new exhaust actually has to be broken in.. or it seems. you should be alright just checking what i mentioned.

It will. All exhausts out of the box sound like crap, as they need to break in, and get coated. They also need to burn up all the stuff that the metal is coated with. You are getting the good sound, without having to go through the break in phase.

shouldn't be hard to get a hold of some rubber hangers. ask around locally. people probably have em laying around after they go to a single exhaust. i have 2 extra ones from HKS when i got my brand new Hi-Power last Friday. i used the stock ones instead of those. if you're in the MD/DC/VA area i can give them to you. oh and make sure you have all the gaskets.

Most good exhaust shops can make just about anything work and will have the parts you need. I would go to a couple shops tell them what you have and see if they can help you.

go to a muffler shop and see for the gaskets. most parts shops should have them though.

are you running the HKS without gaskets right now??
