Default HKS F Con systems

Anybody using or used the HKS F Con S, SZ, or Pro units for engine management? I see HKS has a P&P harness made specifically for the s2000 as well. I've been searching around on the web, but haven't found too much concrete info yet.

I saw the P'n'P harness in the HyperRev No. 97. It looks like and intercept or piggy back set up. Is that correct? Do you retain your stock ECU?

It's been difficult to find any solid info other than the small blurbs on the HKS website. As far as I can tell, the S and SZ are piggy backs and you keep the stock ECU. However, the Pro is a complete stand alone ECU that replaces the factory unit.

Well that's why you have us to tune it

The HKS F-Con is a solid tuning unit and has a wide range of tuning capabilities. Like Motec, F-Con V Po is a true 32-bit map processor - unlike AEM EMS (16x32-bit hybrid), Apex'i Power FC/V-AFC (16-bit). The processing speed is much faster which in return, responds better than the above. It also has a self-learning mode where I doubt the other units will "learn" as quick. F-Con S is a piggy-back unit, while F-Con V Pro is a standalone. The V Pro does still retains the OEM ecu on certain cars to control AC, Windshield wipers, and other interior electronics. The OEM O2 & Map sensor will be replaced with the sensors HKS provides. Another good advantage with the F-Con V Pro is you have the choice to choose 4-different channels. So you could have each channel set for daily driving, drag racing, road racing, and a more agressive tune for 104/110/C16 octane.

We've installed HKS V Pro in couple of our cars with good results.

Skyline GTR-33: completely stock (even OEM headgasket) with HKS T51R Kai SPL, fuel setup, & F-Con V Pro made 710whp. After we built the motor, it put down 940whp/733lbs of torque.
Supra Turbo: fully-built with HKS 3.4L Stroker kit, HKS GT3240 Twin-turbos, & F-Con V Pro made 1110whp/839lbs. of torque. And this car is pretty much daily driven, at least every weekend.
Civic EK: B20VTEC, HKS GT3240, & F-Con V Pro made 675whp/455lbs of torque.

Hope this helps. There's more functions but then I'd typing all day If there's any questions, feel free to ask or give us a call 626.333.5398

well i would love to get the f-con when i get my turbo setup put in... but i'm not going all the way to california to get the thing tuned...

if i could find a tuner in my area i would definently go with the f-con over the aem ems... but most of the tuners here are efficient with the aem ems
