I know I've been a wanker for not reporting on my trip and mostly not reporting on my meeting with S2000NL and Mrs. S2000NL. I have a couple of pics but technical difficulties delay them

Anyways, I had a great time and got the opportunity to meet with 2000NL and his wife Amanda. We sat and drank beer, tea and had a sandwich for almost 5 hours at my hotel. Yes, he is an S2000 freak, and she too, like the rest of us. Fantantic couple and a really enjoyable time. Thanks Yacoub for taking the time to meet and telling us about your life in NL. If you are ever in SoCal, drop me a note!

Oh and Yacoub, when I got back I went for a long top down drive in the fabulous sunny 24C weather of Southern California Just thought I'd throw that in there

Pics to follow...

C3,

I'm glad you had a good time here in the Netherlands. It was very nice to have met with you and your wife. It would have been nicer if my wife was fully recovered from the opp. so we could have gone places. Maybe next time.
I'm afraid i have some very bad news about my S2000. The following day to our meeting with you i was involved in a very bad crash here in Hilversum. I basicaly lost control of the car, skidded and hit a lamp post sideways. The junction were it happened is near a bus station and the combination of deasel fuel and rain water on the tarmac was to my disadvantage when i changed to 2nd gear.
I was very lucky as the impact was just behind my drivers seat. My car was declared a total loss yesterday and the insurance company agreed to pay 90% of the price of the car.I'm glad that i was in an S2000. Any other car and i think serious injury would have been certain.

Yesterday i looked at a 1991 NSX in mint condition with only 60k Km on the clock and i'm tempted to buy it. Asking price 70000 Dutch Guilders. I'm also looking at an Integra type R tomorrow.
To replace my car with another S2000 is out of the question now as the waiting list is quiet long, and i'm not prepared to wait.
Unless i find a nice second hand for a reasonable price.
I'll try and take some photos of the damage and report later.
Please drive safely and respect the power that the S2000 has.

Pardon my Dutch but HOLY SHIT!!!

Yikes, I'm glad you are OK. It seems kind of ironic that when me met you were apprehensive about the valet parking it only to have it demolished the next day. Any chance of getting on in Germany or Belgium? Wow, I'm real sorry about your loss but my offer still stands, anytime you are in the neighbourhood, drop me a line.

Condolances,
c3

Thanks for the offer C3, i may take you up on that soon.

I spent all last night considering my options. In the end i decided to buy the NSX.
I'll stay on this board as an observer to keep up with developments on the S2000 front,
and may see you soon in the states including my NSX not withstanding any lamp posts in the way.

Bye for now.
