I putting a deposit down on a silver/red next week. Are there any accessories that are must haves? Does anyone have the hard top? I might need it occassionaly here in Louisville. Is it difficult to take on and off?

Not from Honda!
Get the MuZMaT from Muz (shouldn't be too hard to find in the GB section ) and if you're not adverse to black carpet get the low altitude MuZMaT's too. Or you can wait in line behind me for the reds (it's a conspiracy if you ask me ).
And if you're still keen for upgrades maybe sone Sony 1621 speakers and perhaps an amp. The sound system is perhaps the only inexcusable weakness in the S.
Oh, and welcome to the club

welcome aboard.
you'll love the car -- and find this board valuable beyond belief.
this has been covered in the past on the board and i'll sum up (you also might want to do a search to get full details).
as i remember the concensus is:
- none of the Honda accessories are *required*,
- all can be purchased and installed at a later date if desired, but in many cases aftermarket options are preferable, and
- it is generally considered advisable to immediately invest in a Muz Mat as your first "mod", and
- the best money you can spend improving the performance of the car would be spent on driving school (say a one day high performance class and a two day racing class).
i think this sums up common knowledge...

I don't have them on my car, but if you plan to get the side strakes you might want to consider getting them at the time of purchase. That way they are covered by any extended warranty you get. Several people have had problems with them coming loose and falling off.
