Default Honda Collection Hall Virtual Tour

A member on the motorcycle forum that I run posted up this link to a virtual tour of the Honda Collection Hall a while back and I thought it would be worth sharing here. There is a lot of S car heritage on display in the museum that's really cool to see. It's interesting to see that Honda also features a few of it's competitors in their museum as well — you'll notice the inclusion of the Toyota Sports 800 in the S car display.

The HCH also has it's own YouTube channel with videos of the vehicles in their collection. I believe this has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum, but just in case some weren't aware I figure it's worth sharing again. The museum has a small path out back for driving displays of their collection, which seems to rotate over time. Too bad they don't have an even larger building. Visiting this place is on my bucket list.

I've been to the actual museum in Motegi, it's a good 3 hour train ride from central Tokyo. I recommend getting a rental car if you were to ever go or better yet stay the night if you have time as the long train rides and multiple connections gets old after a while. There isn't much there besides the track and kids theme park, so try to go during an event to make it worth while.

There was no S2000 when I went last year, although I did find a green one parked in the paddock belonging to a team member that was testing that day. I guess the car is still relatively new. They did have the three original Type R cars, some JGTC NSXes, a BAR Honda F1 car and lots of race bikes. The current layout is a bit different than the virtual tour. Also picked up a couple souvenirs from the museum shop.

@Kilika , that's awesome that you got to check it out. Consider me envious. As a big fan of both Honda motorcycles and cars I figure that a visit to the HCH would be a win/win for me even without any special events taking place.

I visited the HCH in November. I agree that it's worth it to make overnight arrangements in Motegi since you lose a lot of time commuting. My buddy and I rented an RX7 and a Supra from Omoren.com and made the drive. Being able to drive a classic JDM car during the fall in Motegi was very memorable. The landscape was really scenic with the trees changing color. It was our first time driving on the other side of the road too.
