Went to McNatt Honda in Lewisville today to set an appointment for the seatbelt recall. I asked if they would give me a loaner since the recall was Hondas fault and they would have the car all day. Their response was that since I didn't by the car there they would not give me a loaner. I explained that I had just moved from MN. to TX. Their response once again was that if I wanted a loaner I should go back to where I purchased the car.
I called the Honda Customer service in Irving and they stated that they would approve a loaner and would follow up to ensure that the recall was done correctly. They agreed to this without having to get ugly.

Even though it worked out I don't understand why the dealer couldn't be agreeable to the loaner.
I know that I will go to another dealer when it is time to buy a new car.

So far i'm having a great experience with my grind-fix.
I called Manchester Honda, in Manchester CT, and they agreed to do the fix over the phone, not having even seen the car (i had documented the issues a few months earlier with them though). I dopped of the car along with my all inclusive "anal" checklist and they were very receptive to all my concerns (too many to list).
I was offered a loaner, though i didn't need one. I was told their S2000 mechanic was currently working on another TSB-0055 and would start mine towards the end of the day.
Right after lunch i got a call indicating they got an early start and already had pulled the tranny. Told me the clutch and Flywheel looked great and already came with the heavy duty parts (1st concern).
Said they just wanted to give me an update.
Waiting for the call to pick it up.
Will post full story once the job is complete, but sounds like a positive feedback letter in the making so far.

Most of the local dealers would be reluctant to provide you with a loaner for day service. Extended service may be a different story. The fact you were able to get a loaner at all is great. I had to endure two weeks before my dealer finally turned loose a loaner for the remaining two weeks. I cannot recommend any local dealer but there are several to choose from. Maybe it's time to post a DFW dealer survey...

Everytime I have taken my car in for even a day my dealer has provided a loaner to me. In fact if they don't have a loaner on the lot they will use Enterprise Rental to provide the loaner. I have never dropped off my car for a day and not been offered a loaner. They have also provided loaners to other S2K owners that have purchased elsewhere.
