Honda will be introducing a new 2.3 liter turbo i-VTEC this summer rated at 240 HP. Will first appear in Acura's New RDX smaller SUV. Could this be the next S2000 engine? Assuming the car is not discontinued could be the perfect platform and a tuners dream. I would assume the engine is in a very mild state of tune and could easily be adapted to the S2 with 280-300 HP from the factory. If Honda wants to stay competitive they will have to up the HP starting next yr. With 260 HP Solstice GXP, Saturn Sky Redline, 07' Mazda Speed MX 500 (Miata) and HP increases for 06' 350Z, BMW Z4 & Porsche Boxsters I see no alternative other than extinction. Let's hope Honda is paying attention and once again introduces a new version at the top of the food chain.

no, this is not a hybrid just first vehicle Honda will be using this new forced induction engine in. Was only speculating on it's potential for adaptation to the next s2 (assuming it is not dsicontinued).

 

Honda made the City turbo back in the 80s. Of course it was never sold here.
