The S2000 is my first experience with Honda and I have to say that I am not that impressed with the overall quality. I was expecting years and years of trouble free operation and it is just not turning out that way.

My air conditioner quit working yesterday....window regulater....emission valve last week, Transmission rattles ....popped out of gear a couple of times....11K on the car?

Is it just me or is this quality with Honda over rated?

Love the performance fo this car but I cannot believe it will still be worth much after 30k.

No my 2002 3.2TL type S is similar.

It appears that Honda/Acura is cutting down on corners to save $$ at the expense of quality.

My car has had:
Misaligned exhaust pipes/missing exhaust tips on delivery
Warped rotors on brakes
Center console lid failure to close
More rattles than a field of snakes.
Squeaky seats and seatbelts
Power window failures
Paint defects requiring repainting.
CD player jams CD's.

Others on the TL forums are reporting serious transmission failures requiring new or rebuilding transmission.


Very disappointing after my previous Honda's.

 

Having had 6 Honda products(including the S2000 and Acura TL currently) and a few non- Honda's, and having three in the household currently overall I have not had too many issues with my current S2000 nor the TL. My wife's Civic has been fantastic, but I admit the build quality of that and the TL are a bit less than what I was used to in my previous Japan-made Accords.
The few probs with the S2000 have been taken care of by warranty, and I guess I just expected a limited production car would have a few more issues, but nothing has distracted me from the performance I get from the car. I guess each car is just different. Sorry to hear about the probs you have experienced.
