Sorry, but your trailer didn't entice me. Too many repetitive shots, too slow, no story line. I just didn't get it. Over use of the fade to black. Fade to black is a conclusion of a story, or segment, not a transition to be used often.
But as I said I really appreciate the critique and ill be sure to forward this to my partner.
Ps. What did u think of the other video?
I went back to the full length video and found the same issues. I could only stay with it for 2:01 minutes. Fade to black used far too often. Fades and dissolves serve a purpose. Whomever is doing the shooting and editing needs to read an old book called Today's Video. The equipment in the book will be out of date, but the production techniques are invaluable. Look for a Home Editing class nearby and learn to keep your non-full length feature films to 5 minutes or less. You need to tell a story. Try watching it without sound and see what the pictures tell the viewer. Video production may seem easy, but to tell a good story in a limited time takes a lot of planning and post production editing work. Watch TV for the editing cuts. You'll see a lot of straight cuts in most productions. Watch the length of scenes and how scenes are transitioned. Limit your fades to black to end a story line, or just at the end of the production. Fade to black tells me the story is over. The first two minutes I had to fight to stay awake. I didn't have any interest after that time. What story where you trying to tell? What makes your story interesting to someone else?
