Stock hood???

As the T1R is a direct clone of the ASM and these are the statements I got from ASM when I got mine and had problems with the Seibon MG hood.

If you have anything other then the stock hood or the Mugen hood you must notch the hood to get it to close fully.

Are you just dropping the hood from about 6-8 inches? Did you leave anything in the engine bay?

I installed my K&N aircharger last week and my hood doesn't close as easily as before. Even when i drop it from 1-2 feet it doesnt close. I now find it easier to put it down and lightly press it with my fingers until it clicks.

You can adjust the hood by either turning the rubber stops a 1/4 turn on each side under the hood or by taking a 10mm socket and lifting the latch about 1/4 inch. Either one will fix your problem and the fitment will still be good.

I just installed the 4-pt strut bars and I'm having the same problem with closing the hood too. I've stock hood. Seems like the top of the strut bar is touching the hood.

The only way I can close the hood now is either slam it with force (not just dropping even from my neck area)

Or when the hood is down to press until it clicks.

It might work if we remove the heat/sound padding underneath the hood....
