Default how to...

i'm trying to take off the filter that's used for A/C and fan under the passenger side but all i could was just pull out the motor and see the filter hanging there but i couldn't get it out. anyone had done this before? the reason i want to get the filter out is because the A/C and fan have some nasty smelling and i just can't stand it anymore but without the luck i really can't get that damn filter out... maybe i'm doing it in a wrong way if any of you have some info on this please let me know... thanks a lot!!

Hmm, I am at little loss why you couldn't figure it out.
It was very simple for me.
Granted that your 2002 model uses same as 2000 model, try this.
There is a tab you need to push it in to have it snap out.
See the arrow pointing.
Push it in and pull out, simple!

Closeup of the filter.

I hope that helped!

Oh wait, I think you are not sure where the filter is located.
Use the above pictures as guide.
With the hood open, go to the passenger side close to battery terminal and pry and lift up the plastic panel to expose where the filter is sitting.
