How do you document maintenance?
I'm just curious how those of you that do keep records document your maintenance. For instance, I have documented every single thing in my owners link that I have done to the car. It has 13k miles on it and I have 4 oil changes (I'll switch to 5,000 miles now, I was doing 3,000), 2 tranny changes and 2 diff changes and I have all the records in my Honda Owner's link complete with what fluids were used. Is this sufficient? Unfortunitly I haven't held onto all the receipts so I'm just curious what others do. Maybe I should have kept the receipts as well.
I figure if I ever have to sell the car (eventually in the far off future) it will help, I know I'd like to see documented records!

I keep a paper file with all records. Thats plenty sufficient for me.
A complete service history is a huge deal for an informed used car buyer.
Im actually kinda pissed that I didnt get the original window sticker with mine, frankly.

Would you consider having the owners link complete with every change documented in detail sufficient records? I check and I only have about half the receipts for what I bought, but I have it all written up with paragraph long explanations in the owners link. From here on out I'll keep receipts too. I have receipts for 2 out of the 4 oil changes and the diff fluid and one tranny change. I'm missing two oil change receipts and one tranny fluid receipt, buts its all well documented in my owners link write-up.
I have a folder for each of my cars. On my S I do all the work myself and just document the date and mileage, if receipt are applicable I include them as well. If I ever sell it, the buyer will know I take care of it, just by looking at it.

I have about half the receipts, but I think my owner's link should be sufficient to see what I do to the care to take care of it. I write to the extend the field will allow for characters everytime. Every detail is documented, from oil changes to my intake installation.
I have seen the need to keep track of your car's history and have been in the process of creating a web software to cater to this. I think others may find it useful as well so it may eventually become a community where you can have an account with extensive data logging of anything you may have related to your car. I haven't worked out what portion will be public yet and what will not.
