Default How fast is 02 s2k from 0-60 or 1/4mile?

without revving the wee out of the engine and viciously dropping the clutch?

Most magazines say 5.8 and 13.8, with some spec'ing it out to be a little slower. Don't know if they beat the piss out of it or not.

^ At those numbers, yes. More conservative driving you'll find it probably will be a very low 6 second 0-60 and low to mid 14s for 1/4 mile. It'll still beat a Mustang GT though

lol in other words, starting out from a roll and then not even redlining it?

if you're worried about acceleration, yet want to race as stated above, then you have much more to learn. lol. why would you short shift on any car?

if you don't launch the car and rev to redline and power shift....well you're looking at high 6's 0-60 and high 14's 1/4.

i think he just meant launching without breaking the rear end.

if i was a test driver id launch that sh*t at 7k. in my own personal car, i launch at 5k.

Sorry, I should have been more clear on it.. I don't mind redline it between shifts, but launching the car. I have read that many reviewers (Car and Driver, and etc) need to dump the clutch at 7K RPM on the 1st gear to nail 0-60mph in 6 second or low 14s on 1/4 mile. Again, I do not mind redline the engine, but I would NEVER rev to 7K RPM and dump the clutch on 1st gear. I want to know how fast is s2k from 0-60 and 1/4 mile run if no abuse on 1st gear.
Well, as I've stated previously, I have launched anywhere from 4000-6000rpm. i've never had to go over 6000rpm and have been able to get enough wheelspin without bogging down.

The car can take 6000rpm launches, IF DONE RIGHT. In stock form, the S2000 can take the clutch dumps as long as you dump it and dont ride the clutch or let it out slowly, slip it, etc.

I ran my S2000 over 100 times on the track and street raced every other weekend, as well as numerous stoplight races. I launched the crap out of that thing for 35k miles and NEVER had a problem.

I did however, notice my tires would mysteriously require changing fairly often.
