How fast is fast in the S?
I have to agree with some of the above posts. I used to ride a crotch rocket in the triple digits routinely. And then I finally got smart and stopped riding a bike altogether. If you keep riding at speeds like that on public roads, you will (not maybe) go down eventually. I see more young dudes in the ER as trauma victims that are quadraplegic or horribly mangled on a routine basis....Drive fast on a track.....still dangerous, but many of the variables outside of your control are minimized, such as animals, old ladies driving 25 MPH, etc. Once I started track driving, its amazing how I really dont care about driving fast on the public roads anymore....just a strange phenomenon about myself, i guess.
I had my s2k up to a buck twenty the other day...
John Force's funny car will run a quarter mile in about 4.5 seconds at over 325 miles an hour...
My s2000 is fun to drive but John's funny car could trounce it without batting an eye.
I'm going to buy some tang bangs and twice pipes for my Honda... that is all.

My 20 yr old nephew almost died 2 wks ago on his Suzuki 1000 which he had for less than a year. not push turning at speed seem to have been the issue. He claims only 100km/h, so imagine over 100mph.
Good luck with your bike/car top speed comparos on public roads.

I agree with all the posts about driving this quickly on American roads. It's a bit different in Europe where the roads are in better condition and most countries require a difficult and road relevant driving test.
I'd also like to add that there is always an ambulance at the track with the motor running. Also, on the track everyone has signed a waiver and is aware of the risks involved. The same cannot be said for the minivan with a family of four who happens to pull out in front of a 130mph sports car.
I like to have a bit of fun on a backroad, but I never push the car near its limits. To answer the OPs original question: fast is relative. 130mph down the a long straight at a trackday may not feel that fast when one is getting passed by Z06s and GT3s, but 40 mph in the rain on a curvy road can seem too fast when you hit some standing water that you weren't expecting.

If you're just looking for building something with tons of top end, you're probably starting with the wrong platform. I just sold a Z06 which isn't a bad place to start, or a something like a '99 FRC (solid, fixed roof design), built 402 or 416 low CR with a F1R SC or custom TT setup with GT-Ks.
Just seems like chasing bike performance is a losing battle (bikes have many inherent limitations so you might as well compare them to my boat - not even the same ballpark vs. a car).
Good luck.

The roads I was on there is absolutely no one on guys.
Its was 32 degrees out and 6:48 in the morning.
They are rural rural back roads that I take to go to work and its this one section that there are no side roads on or anything whatsoever just farm land. Wasnt my camera phone either it was a little cannon digital.
Same trusted road I had the girl on the ducati with me up to.
Im still alive guys 31 years old. Had many fast cars/bikes. I will be alive and well.
Been on the track too. With the bikes.
Tracks are fun. Lots of twsities etc.
