how good are s2000's for winter driving?
i was planning to buy a s2k but my dad is complaining and saying how i'm gunna be taking the bus in the winter! i live in calgary alberta where the winters can get pretty harsh. so i was wondering how go it actually is in the winter.
with proper snowtires, the only limitation is ground clearance. on soft and hardpacked snow, the S handles amazingly if you are easy on the throttle. if you push the gas pedal down a bit further, then it gets fun
we just had our first major snow of the year and i was rolling past SUVs that were stuck on hills

so far, so good. I try to pull the rear end out around corners in the rain and cold weahther but she doesn't like to go. I get close then chicken out cuz she snaps back like crazy. Point being, thumbs up so far!

Pretty much what everyone else has said, get good snow tires and you'll be fine. I live in Edmonton so I know Alberta winters all too well.
Although I do have a hardtop on mine, not sure if I'd want to drive it in the winter without one (particularly a 00-01 with the plastic rear window). However, if you have a newer model with the glass rear window and defroster then it probably wont be too bad.

I tried for one winter, but this year I decided not too. I am buying an AWD Subaru. I am trying now to keep my car clean, alot of rusted bolts, makes upgrades a pain. Previous owner most likely drove it in winter and did not wash the underside.
