How high is too high?
If everything but the motor is good you kswap it. Seriously it is not that much more than a used motor for these cars if you get a kit from a reputable place (ASM) and then any future replacements are cheap. I would not even attempt a rebuild or resleeve of one of these beyond the simple refresh
Then you have an already more affordable high mileage car with a motor you are not scared to death to break (I mean these motors are strong if you properly maintain them but sucks when they break) and are not all bent out of shape about "keeping the value high" so you will actually enjoy the car
