from what i remember...you have to remove, i think 2 panels in the trunk that cover the spare tire. The spare tire also has to be removed to expose the 4 nuts that secure the upper portion of the shock. Watch out for the left rear, it is very tight, the gas lines are a huge obstacle!! Hope this helps!
its been a while...but try sliding that rubber boot out of the way. And you probably have to come up with a combination of extensions with a good ratchet! Good Luck!
driver's side is definitely the worst. Just remove all the trim and the upper crossbrace as well. my boot did not want to slide too well, so i just left it on instead of risking puncturing it. Universal joints and the proper extension combo is what will work the best
take your time and wear a back brace if you have one
installing the driver's side rear isn't that much of a PITA. with the right tools and extensions, you can do it easily. but honestly, if you have large hands, it will add to your difficulties.
Not as hard as it looks. I just took the access panel out and used a wobbly w/ a 3" extension. It would be a good idea to have telescoping magnet handy, because you might drop the nut . I did, and it took 5 mins. to fish the nut out.
I believe it's a 14mm socket for the top 2 and 17mm and 19mm for the bottom.
Just remember when putting it together, use a torque wrench to tighten. I believe it's 47 lbs-ft bottom and 36 lbs-ft for the top two.
Good luck!
