Dave, thanks for trying to protect me from myself. If you look at my first post, you will see this gaurantee in the first paragraph.

Guedo, Xviper is right and you are wrong. It is not "safer" to try launching at 5,000 to 5500 rpm. It is more dangerous as your rear tires will not break loose, the engine will bog and all the strain and forces will be taken by your mechanicals. If you start at 5000 to 5500 and "slip the clutch" as you hit the gas you will fry your clutch.

I tried my first launch at 5500 and it bogged. Some things are opinion, other things are facts. Sorry if you think we are being mean to you. Even if you are unconvinced, or think Xviper should not have publicly questioned you, I think it is worth rejecting your opinion publicly so others don't assume you have a valid point based on Xviper's or my own silence. Again, sorry.

The cost to change diff fluid need be no more expensive than the cost of the fluid and two crush washers. See Xviper's DIY thread on changing your diff fluid.

Back to the ticketable offense part - In California is it true that they can actually confiscate your car now if you are perceived to be street racing? Someone told me there's a new law where you actually don't get your car back. I'm not condoning street racing, but if that's true, it could only happen here in CA where nothing makes sense.

Sorry, I don't practice in California. If no one else knows, I can look into it.

If you have to ask this you shouldn't do it. It costs a lot. I have heard numbers over $1500. If you have never done it up to now, you probably don't need to. This does increase the wear on your car. No sense in trying it just because others do it.
