I've been lurking here since putting a deposit on a yellow s2K last October, but now I guess it's time to get a little more involved. So, here's the question: How long does it take from the day the car is manufactured until the VIN is released--and then how much longer does it take for the car to hit the dealer? The tentative build date for my car was Feb. 15. (Actually, that's the second build date; the first one was postponed.) The dealer's guess is 40-60 days from now, but I'd appreciate hearing from any of you who have recent real-life delivery information to share.

My yellow had a build date of 1/27 and hit the dealer last Friday. Hope that helps.

 

Mine was built in December 99, got the VIN at the very end of January 00, and I took delivery at the end of February 00.

I would think you should be getting your VIN next week sometime and your car beg of April.

 

Sounds like you will have the car in time for S2KDays!!!

Spa2k, My build date is Feb 8 and I am also waiting for a VIN and ship date. My dealer says his guess is that it should arrive between March 15 & March 20. I'll let you know when it happens, yours can't be far away, good luck!
