I ususaly warm up for 2 min till I hear the idle drop down below 1k, or until I get 2 or 3 bars on the heat meter.... 450 miles on my car now. Almost at the books 600 mile break in limit.

There's really no need to let this car warm up idling, especially with the temperatures you are seeing in Santa Monica. It's actually detrimental to the engine to let it sit there idling. Start up and go.

i'm going to disagree on that... oil had different weight with rising temp and it best performs when it's at it's ideal temp... it takes over 15 min of driving for engine oil to get up to temp... thats right 15 min.. on some cars.. get a oil temp guage and you'll see...

as for me i have a 2 way remote start alarm on my s2k and that helps me to warm the car up close to a min every time i drive.. of course if the car is warm already there's no need..

I was going to respond but looks like RR took care of it.

Get in, start car, put in neutral, put on seat belt, turn radio on or leave it off, clutch in, 1st gear, drive.

The time it takes you to do these simple things is more than enough. I'm gone within 30 seconds.

I park my car in my garage at my house... so in the morning i go & open the garage and start my car a good 10 mins before i plan to leave.
after work i usually sit in my car a good 5 mins before i leave, however if i need to hurry up and get outta there i baby it (shift before 3500 rpms) until i hit 3 bars
