how long will the s2k engine last?
tell that to my GSRs first engine that blew up at 47K.
no it was not a mis-shift and happened at around 6000rpm. I was having valve noise for about 2 weeks; I think one of them stuck because of a guide failure.
Acura replaced it under warranty without giving me crap, though. Took them SIX WEEKS though.

I've got a 91 civic with 270K and its running strong. I had it from 91 when I was 17 til now. I've beaten on it and it burns less oil then my 03 S2.
Hey good news, you don't have to wait for the S2k engine to start burning oil because it does it already. Maybe that's what they mean when they say "Better than new".

Someone on this board argued that the high piston velocity on the S2K will probably limit the engine life. While that's probably hard to quantify, the argument does makes sense to me. I'm wondering what can be learned from the motorcyle world. Does the high RPM and piston velocity on a motorcycle limit the longevity of the engine? Can a high-reving motorcycle engine last 200K miles?
