Default How Low Will You Go?

What is the lowest temperature that you will drive your S with the top down?

I still don't know. But if my nose turns blue, I guess I will put it up then.

If you have a plastic rear window, I do not recommend raising or lowering the top when it's around 45F or below. Plastic gets brittle -> breakage.

This will be my first winter coming up (and yes it does occasionally get down to the single digits for a day or two down here in a bad winter).

I had it down today and it was 51F and I was doing about 90 on the interstate. One hand was a little cold, but I didn't have gloves on. I use a leather 'do-rag' like the harley guys and it keeps my head/ears quite warm. Had the fan on about 3 clicks, so I figure I can easily go another 10 degrees.

Good thread, btw, as I'm curious too.

When I first got the car I was far more tolerant to cold weather than now. The S2000 is my first convertible and I would take advantage of it whenever possible. I've definitely driven at 40 degrees, of course the heat was going full blast. However, now that I've had the car coming up on 3 years, I probably stick to the 50s and higher. The thrill of the car is still with me, but the newness of top down driving has been tempered with time.

I really chuckled when I saw what some car mag writer said: "The top stays down unless the storm outside has a name."

Forties for me.

Hahaha, amateurs. HopkintonMA on this board showed up one morning at a meet top down last winter. It was like 20 degrees F. That's crazy! He never raises the top unless it's raining.
