What makes the Prius fun?

- Women, including my fiancee, really like it
- Cheap to fill the tank
- Surprising passenger and cargo space (neat lower trunk holds two folding camp chairs)
- Stealth mode of driving on electric only (newer Prii have a speaker and emit simulated Jetsons noise).

What makes the Prius not fun?

- Comfortable, but not exciting driving dynamics
- Regen brakes that get interrupted until the friction brakes kick in if stopping on loose gravel or potholes
- Very aggressive traction control to prevent wheelspin from damaging the electric motors makes winter driving difficult
- Green-cred scratchy interior plastics
- The interior materials and tinniness of a sub-$20K car with an expensive powertrain
- Driver's seat that many folks find uncomfortable.

I think a well balanced garage have "fun" cars and "practical" cars together.

I have a '13 Suburban, with all the extras...fun to drive, hell no. practical, hell yes to transport my 3 little ones

 

My fiancee was riding with me yesterday and observed that the fffun in s2k is pretty well limited to the person who's behind the wheel. She's interested in re-learning how to drive a stick shift.
