The only problem I've run into was the replacement of all the fuel injectors. They were throwing misfire codes for all cylinders. It took 2 dealerships a total of 3 months to figure that one out. The codes pointed to me over-revving the engine, but the compression/leakdown test proved me right! They were going back and forth with the Honda Tech-Line trying to resolve it . They just went down the line and started replacing stuff until the Check engine light didn't come back. Darn Fuel Injectors!!! We had just been through Tropical Storm Allison that caused some major flooding around the area. Some gas stations were using a drying agent that was mixed into the gas which was causing tons of injector problems throughout the Houston area.
Issues Encountered:
All of these were corrected under warranty.
- TSB-054: 2nd Gear Grind transmisison fix.
- TSB-055: Noisy clutch on deceleration fix.
- Driver's side window Auto-Close switch fix.
- Map Sensor idling problem.
- Fuel Injector problem.
- A/C condesor and compressor replaced.
Other than that, it's been my 80 round-trip daily driver since day 1. I put about 2500-3000 miles a month through the Houston traffic.
The longest trip I've been on was to the S2kDays 01 in Asheville, NC. I went with 4 other S2k's and we all were amazed how well the car held up after being subjected to many high-speed miles. We average 96 mph, with fuel stops, from Houston to Knoxville.

I'm buying another one of these when I get near the 150k mark. That should put me in line with the 2nd Generation S2000 which is rumoured to be out in the fall of 2004!
General Care:
- Change Oil every 3,000 miles.
- Check the oil at every fillup.
- Let John Eagle Honda of Houston perform 15k miles interval service.
- Change Transmission/Differential Oil every 15,000 miles.
- New Rear Wheels every 8-10k miles.
miles. - New Front Wheels every 15-18 miles.
miles.
BTW,
I still love this car in case you might have misunderstood me.
