how many miles before racing?

I have 1200 miles on my 2002 and I'm scheduled to do 2 days worth of laps at Buttonwillow in 3 weeks. Is that enough miles to break in the engine first? I know you can redline after 600 but is it really wise to redline it hundreds of times in a single weekend?
