i dont live anywhere that theft and vandalism is a big problem and if i buy a car with 100k miles on it im not gonna get full coverage or anything.. ill be on my parents insurance hah. i just wondered if buying an s2000 with that many miles on it was a bad decision.

 

I bought a winter-beater Cherokee with 125k miles on it before winter. I was a little skeptical at first. I changed all fluids and gave it a good tune. Now it runs so flawlessly that I just drive it every day. Now granted 125k miles these days is not that much but it is a 12 year old Jeep...not exactly top-notch quality. I see no reason why a Honda product will 100k or so miles, as long as it was cared for wouldn't be a reliable car.

 

try to stay under 150k if ur budget is small. Ideally under 100k

 

I always factor age of the car just as much as mileage. These care are capable of going 150K+ miles with nothing but basic maintanence, but for those of us who hardly drive ours, likely age will add extra repairs before we can hit that mileage, if we ever even reach that. The more you drive a car, the more reliable it is.

I'd imagine even in ten years, there will still be plenty of used S2Ks around that don't have 100k miles on them, but IMO an S2K with 100k miiles on it now will be a safer bet then an S2K ten years from now with 50k miles on it.

I don't see it as a problem, but definitely get the car checked out, and service records are a huge plus.

That is FAR too many miles for me.

Suspended license, on mommy and daddy's insurance, and saving money to make it go fast.... interesting.


I would wait until you are AT LEAST 94% sure before you buy it.

 

How are you not going to have full coverage? are you paying cash? maybe a 14% signature loan? duh....
