More like 5-6K in the US... Remember, they count S2000's sold in Canada as part of the total for the US....

USA sales by 'calendar year':

'99 = 3,400 (as model year 2000)

'00 = 6,797

'01 = 9,682

'02 = 9,684

'03 = 7,888 (sales drop awaiting new design)

Total
11,788
14,167
13,790
13,682
53,427 Total (US, Japan, Europe) 1999-2002

As for the number of wrecks..... who can say; probably a small number in the total picture. Most seemed to be young, inexperienced drivers to RWD cars & cars with performance tires.

Any way you slice it, it's still a wonderful rare car by most standards.

It's the last numbers on you vehicle number (VIN #), which is plastered all over the car (ie, base of the front window, etc.). For example, if it reads 0000101 at the end, it would be the 101st car in that model year.
