Default How much are 2000-2001 S2K's worth

im in the market for one, but i find some dealers are pricing them too high (in some cases it would be better to just buy a 2003/4).

Is mid/high teens average now? What should I expect to pay for a 2000,2001 (less than 40K miles)??

I'm still an optometry student so my budget is limited.

There are a lot of well cared for S2000s available available in that price range.

Saw a 2001 S2K w/ 44k going for $18,500 at a honda dealership. The car was nice, sebring silver. Didn't really like it because I wanted a berlina black so I bought a 2000 berlina black (already lowered). Too many silver S around where I live, and only seen 2-3 black S so far.

thanks guys... i took my first official test drive in a 2000 S, it was grey...a really amazing machine. coming from my prelude, it felt like comparing a goldfish to a shark. im hooked now.

i fit perfectly in it, the only cons: the stereo really sucks, i was partially deaf after cruising with the top down for about 10 minutes (80 mph)... its my first time in a roadster. i guess i gotta get used to that. i have a heavy foot

hmm I lucked out a bit, I just bought an 00 with 65k on it for $12k it came with torn plastic window, missing mirror glass on right side, missing rear tow hook cover, and a radio cover that wont stay shut, as well as an uninstalled tweeter.

The car is in really good shape mechanically thought, the engine was replace by honda slightly before 30k, reason bieng that oil drain plug was left out in a dealer oil change!!! . We noticed that the right front fender looked like it had been replaced, but to be sure we took it off and didnt find any sign of welding or frame pulling, so it was literally a bump.

I would have happily paid 15k for it though in its current condition. But i am sure its worth more, and could be sold for more.

yea, it sounds like they didn't know what they really had!

but, anyway, the going price is going to depend on the number for sale in the area. 18-20 sounds right for one in good mechanical and cosmetic condition.

btw, every body panel has a non-transferrable vin sticker on it (trunk/hood/fenders/doors/bumpers).
