Default how much does a drop affect handling

I've noticed that tons of members on the forum are getting lowering springs for mainly looks. I feel that the s2000 does look better slightly lowered with 1-1.2 drop but how much does this affect the balance of the car? Does it actually help to switch out to firmer springs like espiler without changing the struts or will it be vastly detrimental?

from what ive read, up to 1 inch should not negatively affect the stock handling;
whether it improves performance is debatable, but the general concencus is
that springs alone does not improve handling...

and yea, lowering springs on stock shocks causes them to wear out faster than normal

lowering more than one inch will throw off your caster and camber just a little bit

as my right camber and caster were off just a tad with the espelir springs 1.3" drop

lowering springs alone probably won't give you better handling, but a moderate drop won't harm you either. They are beneficial in some aspects, but detrimental in others. basically they'll obviously feel stiffer, but not much else.

Lowering will improve steady state cornering but at the expense of transient response unless you do a full on change in suspension geometry. Not usually an issue for a sanely driven street car.

I have Espelir ASDs and I can promise you my car handles better than before the drop. Of course my shocks will be done in about another six months, but then I just upgrade to Yellow's anyway.

how do the espeliers affect the rear of the car? does it help reduce oversteer?
